What can I expect in my first
Communication Coaching session?

First of all, to help you get the most out of our time together, I e-mail you questions ahead of time to help you get clear about what’s most vital for us to work with. I have a very robust tool box to draw from so our sessions are refreshingly productive, deeply healing, and sprinkled with humor when possible. I offer you tools you can immediately apply in your life. Every session is very empathy driven and will often entail these foundational elements:

1) Empathic Reframing- a specialized skill that you will learn from as well as feel deeply seen, heard and understood in ways that many people have never experienced before.

2) Transformative Mapping- drawing from both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Nonviolent Communication, this is a powerful experiential process used to address our inner critic, get out of victim patterns, end the blame game and dissolve family relationship patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Visually, we will literally map out the process together on paper or Zoom whiteboard. This facilitates perspective, clarity and compassion for what matters most to you, your relationships and how to best move forward in the context of your current challenges. .

3) Somatic Embodiment: I find that better results happen when we build new neuropathways from the ground (body) up. TRE, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) and movement modalities such Qi Gong are a few of the tools I will share with you.

How is Communication Coaching
different than Counseling?

In very general terms, I would say that therapy tends to focus on healing the past; understanding family of origin patterns, how they affect us and address any trauma we may have experienced that still impacts our ability to enjoy life fully. Communication Coaching partners well with other therapies because it focuses on pragmatic skills for the present- how to meet life, yourself and others more skillfully… in REAL TIME NOW. This is where the rubber hits the road. As many of my clients intimate below, understanding your patterns is important and… only gets you so far. We all need better skills to create better outcomes in the now moment.

For anyone who is seeking a holistic approach to healing and greater freedom in their life, I support my clients in finding the right therapy and the right therapist for their current needs. There are many types of therapies that I recommend to support my clients in healing childhood trauma, grief and loss, generational trauma as well as neurological, physical and hormonal imbalances. I see myself as part of a team approach in helping clients find what they need most when they need it.

What Clients Say about working with Kristi:

Does something have to be “wrong”
for me to benefit from Communication Coaching?

Of course not. Many people wish to improve their communication and relationship skills because they know it is essential to being happy and successful. We all experience loss and change, overwhelm and stress as a normal part of life. And most of us can relate to having an inner critic that can get the best of us at times. We can’t stop life from happening but we can learn to meet life more skillfully with the tools that I teach.

How long is a session, what does it cost and how do I pay? Do you take insurance?

Typically, individual one-on-one sessions are 60 minutes long and cost $150. If we decide a longer session is more beneficial, time is prorated at $150/hour: 75 min/$185 and 90 min/$225. When facilitating a couple's dialogue, we typically need more time to ensure both people feel heard and understood as well as facilitate communication skill building foundational to improving the connection and heart of the relationship. It's best to plan for 75-90 minutes.

In terms of payment, I accept credit cards and other online payment processes. I do not take insurance. Click here to connect with Kristi for a Free 20 minute consult.
